Fairy Tales & Tutus

October 31, 2026| 3:00pm

Jones Auditorium, Meredith College

Put on your costumes and join us in for a spooky matinee celebration of all things magical! This year we celebrate fairy tales, with music from Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite, Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty Suite, and Delibes’ Coppelia Suite.

Be sure to join the costume parade for a chance to win prizes (children and adults all welcome)! Costume categories will include:

  • Best Costume - Child

  • Best Costume - Adult

  • Best Tutu - Child/Adult

Costume Parade Info/Rules:

Midway through the concert (about 3:30), the house lights will be raised and anyone in costume who wishes to participate will be invited to “parade” in front of the stage. One section of instruments will be selected at random by the Artistic Director to serve as judges, who will choose a couple of their favorite costumes (adults and children judged separately - see categories above).

Make sure you choose a costume that allows you to move through the auditorium safely, and/or bring a guide to help you. All children should have a grown-up nearby. Your costume does not need to be “on-theme” with the concert. Costumes should be family-friendly (scary is OK, but let’s keep it “PG” please) and props should not include weapons or dangerous items (plastic/foam/toys or replicas are OK).
