Enjoy a special Homecoming with guest soloist Erika Boysen, flute professor at UNC Greensboro.  She returns to the stage after performing with us several years ago as winner of our Rising Stars concerto competition.

Presenting Free Spirits Ensemble “Soon to Become Classics” Soon to become classics are musical pieces that have survived the “test of time” and are well on their way to becoming tomorrow’s classics: Richard Faith’s Nocturne; Schoenfield’s Achat Sha’alti for Flute and Piano; Muczynski’s Time Pieces for Clarinet and Piano; Raum’s Chagallian Suite for Baritone Saxophone; and, Albert’s Doppler Effect for Clarinet, Baritone Saxophone and Piano. “Holiday Stories through a Child’s Eyes” features original holiday stories by Raleigh composer, Lanette Lind set to music: The Brightest Light portrays children of different faiths sharing with one another at the holidays and Santa’s Gift to the Monsters bringing a whole new perspective of the holidays from a Monster’s point of view! Also featured will be a musical medley with narration of the behind the scenes stories of everyone’s favorite Christmas carols.

Presenting Free Spirits Ensemble “Music of Tomorrow” on Saturday, March 10, 2018, 7:30 pm, at Ruggero Piano, 4720 Hargrove Rd, Ste 120, Raleigh, NC “Music of Tomorrow” features new compositions by aspiring composers as part of our DreamMakers Project. This is the fourth year of this project and it is already becoming a much sought after honor to have live performances of new works done on a professional concert series. Other works programmed are: Trio for Violin, Clarinet and Piano by Richard Faith, A Golden Celebration for Violin, Cello and Piano by Adrienne Albert, and Sonata for Two Clarinets and Piano by Gary Schocker; and, of course, the premiere’s of works presently being written. Presenting Free Spirits Ensemble “Our Latin Neighbors” on Saturday, April 21, 7:30 pm, at Ruggero Piano, 4720 Hargrove Rd, Ste 120, Raleigh, NC “Our Latin Neighbors” features Piazzolla’s Le Grand Tango for Cello and Piano; Tango (Por Una Cabeza) by Carlos Gardel and arranged by John Williams, and Oblivion by Piazzolla, are a few of the Latin delights on this program. We will be featuring local guest artist, Latin Soprano Teresa Fernandez singing Piazzolla’s Chiquilin de Bachin, Milonga sin Palabras, and El Dia Que Me Quieras by Gardel. Buy Tickets
